Deputy Police Commissioner in Tonj State confirmed on Monday that armed youth ambushed drivers in Tonj road to Rumbek and injured one national security agent.
Colonel Joseph Mayiei Aru told Don Bosco Radio that the attackers stolen money and smart-phones from the drivers under gunpoint.
Mayiei explains that the trucks were coming from Wau heading to Ater-Moc then they started shooting at them.
The Deputy Polic Commissioner discloses that some perpetrators have been arrested and investigation is undergoing though others escaped immediately after the incident.
He adds that authorities from Tonj and Gok States are working hard to put the situation into control.
The officer tells public that elimination of insecurity in the area is a collective responsibility.
