The Acting Director for Torit Prison Service reveals to Radio Emmanuel that, they have release eight inmates charge with minor crimes following orders from National Prison Director.
Major Anthony Lemi Mimbe says the directives reached their office on December 22, 2018 for freeing inmates with minor charges.
He says the special release only targets inmates charge half of their period in prison with minor cases.
Major Lemi says this is a government policy which usually happens during big occasions like independence and New Year celebrations.
The officer was talking to Radio Emmanuel in Torit on Thursday.
