The chairperson of the Association of Media Development in South Sudan or AMDISS says freedom of expression is a concern of every citizen in the country.

Mary Ajith explains that freedom of expression is not about the media practitioners alone, but all people should speak out.

She adds that the parliamentarians have a role to play in safeguarding freedom of speech in the country.

Alfred Taban, a veteran journalist appeal to all media practitioners to remain true to the profession when covering the peace process.

He adds that journalists should act as watchdogs during the implementation processes and report any delay or inconsistency in the implementation matrix.

Taban describes the forum as very important for both the media personnel and the members of the parliament for the implementation of the peace process in the country.

The officials spoke during one-day media forum on Thursday in Juba organized by AMDISS in collaboration with the Committee for Information in the Transitional National Legislative Assembly.
