YMCA graduates more than 30 women in leadership

The Young Men Christian Association or YMCA graduates thirty-four women after completing six months adult literacy and leadership training in Heiban County of the Nuba Mountains.
 
The director of YMCA Kocho Shein told the gathering during event that his association has succeeded in its plan for the first time. Voice of Peace Radio reports.
 
He mentions that the aim of the program is to empower women in leadership.
 
Kocho adds that both trainers and trainees encountered some challenges of lack of cooperation with the community and discouragement from some individuals.
 
However the Commissioner in the office of the Governor Assir Talib expresses the commitment of the government to support any development of education in the region.
 
The Young Men Christian Association or YMCA in the Nuba Mountains has achieved the beginning of its three years programme by graduating the first group on Sunday in Heiban.
