Police authority holds a woman in custody for abandoning a new born child

Police authorities in Torit State are currently holding a 25 year old woman in custody for allegedly abandoning a new born baby boy.
 
Police spokesperson Lt. Colonel Ochan Mathew Jacob Emmanuel, says a woman known by the name Iman Emmy is arrested for throwing a new born baby hours after delivery.
 
Ochan says the baby was found crying around Torit airstrip on the 24th Nov 2018.
 
The Spokesperson says the baby is in good care at Torit state hospital and his condition is not bad.
 
He says this year the police have registered two cases of child abandoning and are still under investigation.
 
According to South Sudan child act 2008 every child has the right to life and be protected from harm.
