Yambio Christians concluded yesterday a three-day marathon of prayers and fasting for the leaders and the people of Sudan

The event under the theme Prayer for Peaceful referendum, prayer for our civil leaders and the people of Sudan ended with an ecumenical service at Yambio’s Gbudue stadium, SCR News correspondent reported.

More than 1,000 people from the Episcopal Church of Sudan, Catholic Church, Evangelical Lutheran Church, African Inland Church and Sudan Pentecostal Church attended the closure service.

The prayers were organised by Bishops Eduardo Hiiboro from the Catholic Church and ECS Peter Munde Yacob and Samuel Peni.

Yesterday’s service concluded two days of fasting and prayers for peace.

In another development, a Church source told SCR News that Ugandan rebels from the LRA attacked near Maridi on Tuesday killing three people.
