The Mother Superior of Missionary Sisters of Blessed Virgin Mary in the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio is appealing to parents in South Sudan to help their daughters who are willing to join the vocation of religious sisters.

Sister Antonietta Bakosoro says their group is focusing on the prior mandate which initiated by their Founder, Bishop Joseph Gasi Abangite who taught them to love teaching and medical professions, Radio Anisa reports.

She reveals some of their Sisters are now working in the refugees’ camps in Uganda giving some support to South Sudanese girls and women.

Sister Antonietta advises that good married couple, a professional soldier, devotional group, priesthood and sisterhood all are God’s call and people should serve God in all ways in a good manner.

She reveals that many young girls in Uganda have joined their Congregation in compared to South Sudanese who are in their formation school in Uganda.

Missionary Sisters of Blessed Virgin Mary started in Mupoi initiated by the first native Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio in 1950s.

Now they are operating in Mupoi, Yambio, Juba and Uganda and hope to establish the congregation in many parts of South Sudan and beyond.

The Mother Superior is in Yambio to move to see how they can renovate their formation house in Mupoi again to start training more girls there to become sisters.
