Torit Mayor stops gambling activities in town

The mayor of Torit on Saturday issued an order banning gambling in the Municipality.
 
The Mayor’s order read on state owned radio directed security agents to arrest gamblers in town, Radio Emmanuel reports.
 
Juliana Momoi Choho says individuals who want to practice gambling as business should be known through registration to avoid being termed criminals.
 
According to the mayor, youth should practice other economic activities like agriculture and business to earn a living instead of doing probability in life.
 
She says those arrested will be fined 7000 SSP or sentence to two months in jail.
 
Mayor Juliana Momoi says gambling activities are on the rise in Torit town championed by men and young boys.
 
Gambling involves cards, dominoes, Lidos among other games using money.
