Jesuits Congregation appeals for immediate and complete disarmament in South Sudan.

The Congregation in a statement condemns the increase of illegal weapons in the young country and calls for an immediate end to the supply of guns.

It also pleads to the international community to increase peacekeeping support and development aid to South Sudan in order to promote economic recovery.

The congregation earlier renews its commitment to continue collaboration with the local church and all people of goodwill for the advancement of the reign of God in South Sudan.

They described Fr Odhiambo as a dedicated and courageous priest and the first Kenyan Jesuit minister.

The late priest was buried on Monday in Cuei-bet at Bishop Mazzolari Teachers College where he worked as a principal.
