The head teacher of Bishop Akio Memorial Secondary School is calling on women to join the teaching profession.
Paul Biajo says many women in Torit prefer politics to teaching, creating a a big gap between men and women in the profession.
He says female teachers are hardly seen in all six secondary schools operating in Torit Town.
‘My advice goes especially to the girls. You see what is happening, all six schools in Torit don’t have female teachers. But your mothers are calling for the 35 percent inclusion in governance. How can you achieve that if you are notwilling to join the profession?’, he asks. Biajo encourages South Sudanese to support and encourage girl child education in the country.
He calls on the various communities to send their girls to school to promote equality in the nation.
The Headmaster made the remarks last week at Bishop Akio Memorial Secondary School.
