Work very hard to present facts, Commissioner urges journalists

The Chairperson of Human Rights Commission urges Journalists to work to present fact to the public to avoid problems.
 
Justin Nyuon while addressing the closing session of training of journalists and legal personnel on media laws in Juba on Friday said journalists need to be critical not to mislead the their audiences.
 
He tells media practitioners to make important use of investigative journalism and acquaint themselves with legal procedures.
 
General Secretary of Union of Journalists of South Sudan, Edward Lodu Terso calls on all stakeholders to ensure that reporters are well equipped to do their work professionally.
 
He regrets that lack of media literacy is one of the difficulties affecting journalist and their audiences in South Sudan.
 
Lodu appeals to partners to support UJOSS, Media Development Institute and media houses in the country.
 
He reveals that since 2017 there was no killing of journalist and that arrest have reduced in the South Sudan.
 
Hellen Toby who represented journalists said she and the colleagues learnt many things especially reporting of court cases.
 
She hopes for more of such trainings.
