Ethiopia to host youth international chaplaincy training for regional chaplains

The Ethiopian Catholic Church’s Young Catholic Workers Movement is to host the International Chaplaincy Training for Regional Chaplains and Adult Companions in Addis Ababa from November 12 to 17.
 
AMECEA Online News says the course organized with the collaboration of the International Coordination of Young Christian workers is under the theme ‘A path to leadership for young people’.
 
Berhanu Sinamo President of ICYCW, it is the first time that international chaplaincy training will be taking place in Africa. 
 
He explains that it is a formation program for chaplains and adult companions for the development of responsibility and leadership among and by young people in eight regions around the world.
 
Sinamo says during the training, participants will share testimonies and challenges faced in the course of accompanying young people. 
 
He said, efforts will be made support National Chaplains understand the YCW method which help in effective accompaniment of the young people.
 
Participants that are expected to attend the training are coming from Eastern Africa, Western Africa, Central Africa, Indian Ocean Islands, Asia, Middle East, Europe and South America and Caribbean Islands.
