The Intergovernmental Authority for Development or IGAD Assessment team arrived in Wau on Thursday to assess the implementation of the peace agreement in the state.
The team comprises fourteen officials from IGAD member states that included Sudan, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Djibouti and Somalia.Voice of Peace Radio Report
Team leader Izadin Osman Taha, says his team is in Wau to assess the implementation of the peace agreement and report the findings to the defence authority.
Wau State governor Angelo Taban acknowledges the presence of the team saying the government is ready for the implementation of the peace deal.
The governor confirms the implementation of the peace agreement through dialogue between the state government and opposition forces.
Earlier in September this year the opposition leaders and government of South Sudan signed a revitalized peace agreement in Khartoum Sudan and agreed to implement the peace deal on the ground.
