The National Constitutional Amendment Committee or NCAC held its first work meeting in Juba on Monday.
The meeting is critical in laying down the legal framework for the pre-transitional and transitional reforms.
In a press statement issues by JMEC, This was a follow up on the inaugural meeting held in Khartoum in October 2018.
NCAC Chairman Gichara Kibara says the meeting was a success adding that it’s a positive and encouraging start to the critical role of the team.
He looks forward to fruitful deliberations and they are optimistic that they will be able to achieve this important task.
The meeting was attended by representatives of all the parties in the reconstituted committee, including members of all parties, women, youth and civil society.
The committee comprises two representatives from IGAD, five from TGoNU, two from SPLM/A-IO, one from SSOA, one from Former Detainees, one from Other Political Parties, one from Civil Society; one Women representative; and Youth.
