Torit State government has postponed until further notice of the celebration of the revitalized peace agreement which was announced to take place on November 2
Information Minister Margret Idwa Okuye confirms to Radio Emmanuel that the state will not celebrate the day as scheduled due to absence of Governor Tobiolo Alberio Oromo.
The government is consulting on the possibilities of inviting armed groups in Torit State to attend the celebration, the official discloses.
She acknowledges that the participation of armed groups in the celebration is vital.
Radio Emmanuel went to streets of Torit to find citizens’ expectation on the peace agreement signed September 12.
They say the deal should not end on papers, but be really implemented to free people from their suffering.
The state governor joined the celebration of the Revitalized Peace Agreement in Juba together with the 32 governors in the country on Wednesday.
