Humanitarian drivers not exempted from legal actions, says government

Torit State Minister for Local Government says drivers of private institutions and humanitarian organizations are not free when they get involved into accidents.
 
Dr Ukidimoi Ogura calls for accountability and proper coordination between the police and UNMISS in resolving such cases, Radio Emmanuel reports.
 
Earlier, Traffic Police Officer Captain Sunday Selvino Akai accuses UNMISS for abandoning victims of accident in the hospital.
 
She regrets the slow reaction pace of UNMISS security towards cases involving staffs.
 
Captain Selvino Akai complains that such issues should be addressed quickly to ease investigations.
 
According to the traffic, the agreement between the government and UNMISS is that cases of road accidents involving their drivers should be resolved within 24 hours.
 
However UNMISS failed to react to this accusation at the moment.
