The chief civil servant in South Sudan recognized that the regional government spent many resources in political programmes but it was the correct option taking into account the local situation.
Secretary General of the Government of Southern Sudan Abdon Agaw Jok told the press this morning that political problems consumed more government resources than they ought but it was necessary to keep the peace in the region.Mr. Agaw said that the Juba Agreement to integrate the forces of Paolino Matip into the SPLA was expensive √ɬê it enlarged the army’s payroll √ɬê but the decision was correct and the political benefits huge because it brought peace to Unity state.
Mr. Agaw added that the economy of Southern Sudan will improve with full stability and foreign investment flowing to the region.
