Torit Chairperson for Peace Commission is calling for intervention of Kapoeta and his state to end tensions between Kidepo Valley and Chukudum Counties.
According to Emmanuel Radio, late last month, authorities from the two states confirmed that retaliations from the two communities led to the killing of a youth, injuring of a police officer in Chukudum and raiding of 12 kraals an estimate of 4,000 cattle from Kidepo Valley County in Torit State.
German Charles Ojok says the commissioners of the victimized areas need to assist the two governors to ensure raided cattle are returned and the perpetrators of the killings face justice.
He says the return of the raided cows is the only way that will guarantee total peace between communities of Logir and Didinga.
Charles says he has communicated with his counterparts in Kapoeta to find solutions to the contentious issue of revenge and raids between Chukudum and Kidepo Valley Counties.
Kapoeta State Information Minister Joseph Kabaka agrees the two states need to work for peace as a family of Eastern Equatoria.
The two states should condemn all forms of insecurities along borders and set laws that will protect the communities, he adds.
