The Catholic Bishops of South Sudan are hoping to get a separate Apostolic Nuncio to the young country.
Bishop Erkolano Lodu Tombe of Yei says as the outgoing Nuncio Archbishop Charles Daniel Balvo is leaving South Sudan, he should work hard together with authorities of Vatican to get a new shepherd.
He says it is also a right of South Sudan Catholics to have an Apostolic Nuncio based in the country.
Bishop Lodu advises the Nuncio to reflect on the point that, when he arrived in 2013, there had been three dioceses without bishops, but now they are four.
He calls for prayers to guide the leaders of the vacant dioceses in South Sudan.
The outgoing Nuncio Archbishop Balvo urges all South Sudanese leaders and people to build the peace politicians recently signed in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
He hopes with the help and the will of God, the deal will stay and people will experience permanent peace.
The two top Catholic leaders were speaking on Wednesday evening in Juba during the farewell party organized in the honour of outgoing Apostolic Nuncio to South Sudan Archbishop Charles Daniel Balvo.
