St Josephine Bakhita Parish of the Catholic Diocese of Rumbek on Sunday celebrates its 25 years of existence in Mapuordit and growth of faith.
The celebration is under the theme: ‘We belong together, Good News Radio reports.
Speaking to the congregation, Diocesan Coordinator, Monsignor John Mathiang expresses his gratitude to the missionaries and those involved in the evangelization of God’s people.
The Monsignor urges the faithful to appreciate the Lord for the gift of faith and of the mission that exists for 25 years.
He prays that 25 years of the mission may lay down the foundation for the growth of faith in Mapuordit and continue.
Parish Priest of St Bakhita, Fr Placido of Comboni Missionaries applauds the Diocesan Coordinator for accepting the invitation to attend big celebration of the twenty five years of Catholic faith in the land of Mapuordit.
He also appreciates all priests who came from different parishes with their Christians for the feast.
St Josephine Bakhita Parish of the Catholic Diocese of Rumbek was established in 1993 during the liberation struggle between Sudan and South Sudan.
