A four days peace building training for headmen in Yei commenced on Tuesday in the town council.
Programme Coordinator for Community Empowerment for Progress Organization or CEPO Daniel Friday Martine, says the workshop mainly targets forty area headmen, IDP’s and returnee’s representatives.
He says the four day event is attended by forty participants from the neighbouring areas.
Friday says the main aim of the training is to strengthen the capacity of local community leaders for effective peace building in Yei River County.
He adds that there is need to address cases of land to avoid tensions with the returnees.
Friday expects the training to equip the targeted group with skills on how to mitigate conflict and also to let them understand the contents of the peace agreement.
