Lightening hit Radio Easter of the Catholic Diocese of Yei, forcing it to go off air on Tuesday evening.
In a statement the station, says due to a strong thunder, the lightning damaged the Radio equipments leading to its shutdown.
The station is equipped with the lightning arrest system, but it seems the lightning had overpowered all the gadgets.
The equipments broken include one kilowatt transmitter, two desktop computers and many other types of equipment.
The management Radio Easter and the CRN Coordinator are making efforts to facilitate and repair the damages at a shortest time possible.
