The Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission or JMEC Representative urges parties to the conflict to commit themselves to the agreement they signed recently to bring lasting peace to the country.
Thomson Foantaine also commends women for continuing to make their voices heard in their quest for peace.
He made the remarks during the commemoration of International Peace Day in Juba on Wednesday.
Foantaine says JMEC will continue to support women participation in peace building and peace processes in the country.
Speaking during the same occassion, South Sudan Human Right Commission Chairman Beny Gideon Mabor calls on the government and the people of South Sudan to embrace peace and development.
He says the government and South Sudanese should implement the UN Action Plan on peace by involving women in any peace process in the country.
The commissioner urges South Sudanese to embrace peace, the rule of law and justice.
The commemoration of the International Peace Day in Juba was under the theme: ‘Peace, justice and building strong institution’.
