South Sudan civil society organizations’ delegates to the high Level Revitalization Forum is appealing to the Intergovernmental Authority on Development or IGAD to intervene on the recent violation of the peace agreement in the country.
In a letter addressed to IGAD, the delegates cite the latest attack on humanitarian vehicle as a persistent lack of political will and commitment to the recently signed agreement.
The organizations say the violations are consistent with the behavior of the warring parties.
They urge the parties to commit publicly end the fighting that may escalate to more violence in the country.
Recently there has been fresh fighting reported in the areas of Kupera, Panyume, Pakula and Gimunu areas in Yei River State.
