Torit State Ministry of Education on Thursday evening announced South Sudan Secondary Certificate Exams results of the academic year 2017/2018.
Vitale Ongejuk, Acting Minster of Education, declares Emmanuel Abdalla Odori Mette of Nimule Secondary School the best student with 88 percent followed by John Ajak Deng Ajak of Fulla Secondary School with 87.9 percent.
According to Radio Emmanuel, the top four students emerged from Pageri County with an average performance of 88 percent, 87.9, 87.4 and 84.7 percent.
Acting Minister Ongejuk declares Father Leopoldo Secondary School from Magwi County and Fulla Secondary of Pageri County the best performing schools in the state.
Hiyala Secondary of Torit East County emerged the last performing school with 72 percent failure and 28 percent pass.
Acting Minister Ongejuk says this year’s performance is appreciating compared to the previous years.
He applauds teachers’ hard work and parents for their tireless efforts in supporting the school going children.
Most Secondary Schools in Magwi, Pageri and Ikwoto counties have performed well while Schools in Torit County have fairly performed except Bishop Akio Memorial Secondary School with schools in Kidepo Valley County (Bira Secondary school) Ayaci County (Lobonoe Secondary School) and Torit East County (Hiyalla Secondary School) counties which have poorly performed, the minister discloses.
According to the results, male candidates continue to perform well compared to females throughout the previous years.
The acting minister was announcing the results at the state Ministry of Education in Torit on Thursday.
