Yei River state parliament on Monday questioned the finance minister to explain the reasons for the delay in teacher’s Salaries.
Finance minister Lorna Sadia says the delay is not at the state level, adding that the salaries were sent late from the national government.
Meanwhile State education minister Kenyi Abiaza John says teachers are not covered under the state pay sheet but are under the counties.
He mentions that there is lack of proper accountability from the counties on teacher’s salary.
Teachers in Yei river state have not received their salaries for the past five months.
