Tombura-Yambio Catholic Bishop leaves for Rome

Tombura-Yambio Catholic Bishop on Thursday morning left the Diocese for a visit to Vatican City in Rome to meet Pope Francis.
 
Bishop Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala says every five years bishops of a particular region or country go to meet the Holy Father in the Holy See, Anisa Radio reports.
 
The meeting is for collaborations, renewal of collegial relations and building up mutual relationship with the whole mother church, he explains.
 
The catholic prelate reveals that he is moving together with the Bishops of Sudan and South Sudan to share with the Holy Father hopes, intentions and the situation of the two countries.
 
Bishop Hiiboro mentions that during the visit they will have three days retreat on the tomb of St Peter the first Pope in the Catholic Church upon whom the mother church was build.
 
He adds that Bishops of South Sudan and Sudan will also make a pilgrimage to the tomb of St Josephine Bakhita.
 
The prelate promises to continue praying for lasting peace in South Sudan.
 
He calls on the government and the negotiating teams to continue talking in good spirit in order to bring permanent peace to South Sudan.
 
Bishop Hiiboro who is the President of the Conference of the Catholic Bishops of Bishops of Sudan and South Sudan was talking to Anisa Radio on Thursday morning prior to departure for Rome.
