The peace talks ongoing in Khartoum, Sudan are adjourned for three more days, announces Sudanese Foreign Minister who is the Chief Mediator.
Al Diridiri Mohammed Ahmed says mediators will go to their countries to celebrate Id Al Adha while the parties will continue and celebrate in the discussion centre.
He says the parties will concentrate on new ideas like the powers of the president and a number of ministries.
The Chief mediator explains that the special round will end next Monday, hopefully with the signing of the initial agreement and there will be a workshop on security arrangements.
The workshop is expected to draw together all conflicting parties in South Sudan, all mediators and observers including the Sudan, Uganda, UN and AU, he adds.
Minister Mohammed says there will also be a special meeting for passing the implementation matrix.
South Sudan Government Spokesperson Michael Makuei Lueth confirms that the mediation team has adjourned the peace talks in Khartoum, to allow Muslims celebrate Id Al Adha.
He adds that the mediators will resume after the celebration and expresses hope that they will ink the remaining contentious issues in the agreement.
Sudanese Foreign Minister over the weekend announced that South Sudan parties were expected to sign initial agreement last Saturday leading to the final agreement.
Cabinet Minister of South Sudan Martin Elia Lomurö confirmed that the mediators gave them the remaining chapters of the agreement for parties to pass through in readiness for initial inking.
Peter Mayen Majongdit, of the opposition, said they will sign the initial agreement after they revised the other chapters.
