IGAD conveys condolences to family of Kofi Annan

Intergovernmental Authority on Development or IGAD Executive Secretary conveys condolences to the family of the former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan who died on Saturday.
 
Ambassador Mahboub Maalim also expresses his heartfelt sympathy to the family of the late and the rest of the world following the passing on.
 
‘It is with immense shock that I learn of the death of my dear brother, Kofi Annan’, he regrets.
 
Ambassador continues that the IGAD Secretariat and the entire region will forever be grateful to the former Secretary-General of the United Nations and Nobel Laureate.
 
He says his contribution to peace and prosperity of the Horn of Africa and the African continent as a whole”.
 
The Executive Secretary of IGAD further notes that, the entire world is mourning the legacy the deceased left behind will be nurtured by all.
 
The world will remember him as a man of strength and a great spirit.
 
The late Kofi Annan from Ghana was succeeded by Ban Ki-Moon who handed UN power to Antonio Guterres.
