State Police Commissioner of Torit has warned officers who have defected or are absent from work to report back before 72 hours.
Brigadier Khamis Mazika Marjan while talking to radio Emmanuel demands officials who deserted their place of work to report to the headquarters for screening.
Mazika says, the orders is an implementation of the resolutions reached in a meeting held this month in Juba by the Ministry of interior to develop and transform the system of police in the country
Brigadier Mazika says, the state is expecting the committee in charge of the screening process to arrive from Juba any time from now.
He says the process is done to identify the police who lost their lives, or those with old age and the defectors.
Commissioner Maika acknowledges the crisis or rebellion as one of the reasons some police officers abandoned duty.
He also says, some police are frustrated due to unknown circumstances
He assures that no police will be dismissed or accused of joining armed forces in due process of screening if they come back.
