Humanitarian Coordinator condemns attacks on aid workers

The United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator for South Sudan has condemned attacks on aid workers and facilities in Bunj, Maban County in Upper Nile.
 
Adnan Khan believes Aid workers, regardless of where they are from, sacrifice their time and their safety to save people affected by the crisis in the country.
 
Kahn says the workers are free to work in any part of the country in line with the law of the land.
 
He urges all parties involved in the attack to immediately cease such actions
 
‘I strongly condemn today’s attacks against aid workers and facilities in Maban and urge all involved to immediately cease such actions,’ said Khan.
.’Aid workers, regardless of where they are from, sacrifice their time and all too often their safety to save people affected by the South Sudan crisis. They are free to work in any part of the country in line with the law of the land,’ he added
 
MSF in a statement reported that a group of unidentified armed men broke into its office and compound.
 
It says the group looted property, burning down a tent full of equipments and destroying many vehicles and communication devices.
 
The organization says no staff was injured during the attack, the team is safe and the organisation is currently monitoring the situation, reads part of the statement.
