FAO urges farmers to cultivate to fight food insecurity

Deputy Country Representative for Food and Agriculture Organization or FAO is appealing to farmers to cultivate to produce more food to fight hunger.
 
Pierre Vauthier after visiting Rejaf East farmers on Friday, stressed that South Sudanese can help themselves and even the neighbors with food through cultivation.
 
He says Rejaf community was suffering from hunger but now they are producing and selling some food in the market.
 
He expresses happiness for seeing a lot of crops production such as egg plans, tomatoes, vegetable, maize and others.
 
The representative urges the local community to give the people in need and help the population of Juba to have access to fresh food.
 
Amna Mogga, one of the farmers appreciates World Vision and FAO for their support.
 
She adds that she is now able to buy salt, shop and other basic things and pay school fees for her children after selling her produce.
 
The lady encourages FAO and World Vision to continue supporting them to go on with farming to fight food insecurity.
 
She testifies that during dry season she gets more money than rainy season.
 
Last year, FAO distributed seeds to Yei River State.
