Support Peace Initiative Development Organization or SPIDO briefs stakeholders on the report of sexual gender-based violence among internal displaced persons in Yambio.
SPIDO Rule of Law Officer, Morris Peter, says their report was basing on assessment results which were basically targeting the IDPs, Anisa Radio reports.
The common gender-based violence SPIDO found among communities and the IDPs are rape cases and sexual assaults, Peter explains.
SPIDO recommended training of stakeholders of gender-based violence, and setting up gender desk and combating the practice in Gbudue State, he discloses.
Mary Martine of Women Resources Center calls for more training for people at the grassroots.
She encourages women to take courage to speak about the violence they are getting from men.
Gbudue Director for Gender Social Welfare, Reverend Richard Rueben Tara, appreciates SPIDO for the great work in filing the report among IDPS in the state.
He says the government will work hand in hand with partners to create more awareness on gender-based violence to communities.
