About one thousand children associated with armed forces were released in Gbudue State, national Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration Commission or DDR confirms.
Abel Likambu Ungarani, DDR Child Officer, on Tuesday revealed that they have one thousand of children associated with armed forces both government and opposition.
The officer calls on communities in Gbudue State and the whole nation to accept and enlighten children on dangers of joining the army.
The community should also advises and counsel the released children when they discover that some are traumatized, he adds.
Likambu reveals that many of the children are undergoing training in Tiindoka Vocational Training Centre in Yambio supported by World Vision, UNMISS and UNICEF.
The national Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration Commission began registering children associated with armed forces in Western Equatoria in October 2017.
