UN Mission in South Sudan in partnership with Organization for Children Harmony known as TOCH handed over the newly constructed police station to the government of Gogrial State.
UNMISS Civil Affiants Officer for greater Warrap, Ambibola Anita, says the station is to ensure that rule of law is functioning in the areas.
She adds that the project is part of contribution to protect civilians because the areas faced serious challenge during the conflict among communities of Gogrial, Tonj and Wau States.
Marko Madut Garang, Executive Director of TOCH, says the station that took three months in construction, will facilitate rendering services to the people.
James Athian, Commissioner of Bouyar County of Gogrial State, appreciates UNMISS and TOCH for building the police station in the county.
He pledges that the state government will make good use of the custody for protecting citizens.
The leaders’ made the remarks in Riang Alek Police Station of Bouyar County during the handover ceremony.
