A recent outbreak of a new skin disease known locally as Makpurunya became a big threat to public health in Yambio County, according to Health Director.
James Ezekiel Ndukpo explains that almost all age groups are scratching skin and is increasing, Anisa Radio reports.
He warns that the disease is spreading very fast and can be found almost in all Payams of Yambio County.
The cause of this disease is not known yet, but can be transmitted through body contact with an infected person and sharing of clothes among others, the director notes.
He adds that the sample of the disease will be taken to the laboratory for examination but those infected are to shower with warm water and soap.
Recent insecurity in the state has greatly affected the delivery of health services to some other areas including Li-Rangu and Nadiangere.
Radio Anisa could not get comments from the Minister of Health and other partners due to their busy schedules.
