International Committee of Red Cross renovates Tonj Prison

International Committee of the Red Cross or ICRC in South Sudan has renovated Tonj State Prison.
 
Major General Francis Bol Ayom on Wednesday said the buildings were in bad condition since British time.
 
It is a contract between the state government and the ICRC to renovate the oldest prison buildings at the headquarters.
 
Major General Bol appreciates the aid agency for maintaining hygiene and sanitation in the prison.
 
He also applauds the state Ministry of Health for treating inmates few months ago after skin disease outbreak was confirmed in the prison.
 
The Major General also thanks political parties for reaching peace agreement to bring lasting peace to the people of South Sudan.
