National Minister of Cabinet Affairs confirms that the coming transitional parliament will consist of five hundred and fifty members.
Martin Elia Lomur√∂ told reporters that the parties ‘involved in peace talks in Entebbe, Uganda agreed to increase the current number of seats in the assembly by additional 150.
The parties agreed to create four positions for vice presidents with Dr Riek Machar, as the First Vice President.
He adds that other vice presidents include James Wani Igga, Taban Deng Gai and a female vice president.
Dr Elia adds that an agreement was put in place to increase the number of cabinet to 45.
The Minister of Cabinet Affairs says President Salva Kiir has shown that he is for peace by accepting the terms provided to him in Entebbe, Uganda.
The Chairman of the South Sudan Civil Society Alliance Akuoch Ajang Nyanhom says they fully support the Khartoum and Entebbe peace initiative.
He says the people of South Sudan are demanding the worrying parties to commit themselves to sign the peace agreement.
Last week the South Sudan government and the opposition parties signed a security agreement in Khartoum.
The progress in the Khartoum round of talks appears to give hope that the conflict about to be resolved.
