Torit State Governor is calling on South Sudanese to commemorate the coming Independence Day in their houses peacefully.
Tobiolo Alberio Oromo says the state government is not celebrating the day due to the current economic hardship.
Torit State has not been organizing and celebrating Independence Day for the last two years.
‘Let South Sudanese celebrate the independence well. In this difficult moment, we may not gather in freedom square to commemorate, but still we will celebrate in our houses’ he adds.
Governor Alberio assures citizens of lasting peace in the country soon.
He calls on refugees to return home without fear.
‘My message also goes to the people of South Sudan that let them not lose hope peace is coming to South Sudan. This peace that is coming is going to be a lasting peace because we have learned from the past mistakes. We have learned from all the experiences that we have gone through and the truth has shown itself. As such we must embrace and live in peace, our people, our returnees who are coming from refugee camps let them not come with fear’ The Governor urges.
Alberio also advises South Sudanese involve in robbing people along high ways, to stop the act.
He calls on county authorities to ensure their roads are safe.
