The time for checking the voter registers, that should have started yesterday, is progressing with some delays.

Jospeh Amanya, advocacy and research officer of SuDEMOP, told SCR News that the calender issued by the Southern Sudan Referendum Commission indicated December 8 as the starting day for the exhibition of voters’ lists.

The date was then postponed to December 10.

All registration centres should be open and those who registerted should go and check their names.

He also said that many have already lost their registration cards, and this is the right time to report the loss.

Merekaje Lorna, secretary general of SuDEMOP, told SCR News that the time for exhibition is squeezed, and SuDEMOP is planning to assist the people by auditing the registers.

The possibility for registered voter to chech the registers and report lost registration cards will last until December 16.
