The Catholic Bishop of Arua appeals to Christians to help in increasing the number of priests in the Diocese to serve South Sudanese refugees.

Bishop Sabino Ochan Odoki encourages the refugees to have hope for peace in South Sudan.

He advises immigrants in Arua and other parts of Uganda to continue praying for peace in the country.

Bishop Ochan discloses that Pope Francis accepted to send pastoral agents to serve South Sudanese refugees in Uganda.

He appeals to good Samaritans to help Arua Diocese in assisting South Sudanese refugees in the camps.

Lack of priests in the camps in Uganda is the major challenge Sudan and South Sudan Catholic Bishops found, says Bishop Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala, President of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference.

He adds that the Bishop’s Conference will start to work on the case to train more catechists and send priests to refugees’ settlements.

The Catholic Diocese of Arua is helping the refugees through other religious organizations and spiritual support to encourage and empower the refugees.
