The government of Torit State has gathered primary and secondary students of Torit municipality at the Freedom Square on Thursday to address them on the dangers of rape, prostitution and informal groupings described as niggers.

Torit Governor Tobiolo Alberio Oromo tells learners to refrain from bad practices like rape.

Youth should not spend their young age in prison but rather use the time for studies, he cautions.

The governor says security organs have been arresting and detaining several pupils allegedly practicing rape and prostitution in Torit town.

Alberio says school children in Torit are suspects of prostitution in the town.

He tells parents of children involved in bad practices to advise their kids or else they will face ten years in jail.

The governor also warns that hotels where prostitutions are practiced will be closed and the owners will face the law.

According to section 2 of South Sudan Penal code 2008 Act, the suspects if found guilty will serve 14 years imprisonment.
