Referendum headquarters in the states are facing difficulties to collect and send their final tally of voters registered to the Bureau in Juba.
Abuk Nikanora Manyok is the referendum directress of Public Outreach. She told journalists today in Juba that the final count of voters’ lists may be ready next week.Ms. Manyok called upon the public to be patient as the bureau is receiving full reports from referendum state headquarters until tomorrow.
Ms. Manyok said that in some remote areas women, young men, donkeys and boats are being used to carry the referendum materials to the headquarters in order to compile the final report.
She added that the final figures should be made public within five days.
Ms. Manyok told people not to worry about the safety of registration materials since observers and the international community were at the referendum centres.
