Civil Society Organizations Network in Rumbek on Wednesday called on Pakam communities that migrate to Eastern Lakes to return to their ancestral land.
Network Secretary-General, Lam Makuach Lam, says there is need for Pakam communities living in Pagarau of Eastern Lakes to come back home, Good News Radio reports.
He urges communities to address their own issues peacefully in order to promote tranquility within the state and country at large.
Makuach also appeals to local authorities to intervene and look into issues that bring fear to communities.
It is a right time for Pakam communities to come back home and develop their counties, says Hakim Chipuounyuc Awur, Network Deputy Chairperson.
He says civil society organizations urge all communities in greater Lakes to work for lasting peace and stability in region.
The increase of arms has damaging effects on vulnerable elderly, women, children and girls in the county and it was vital initiative to disarm these states, he adds.
Lakes States have been suffering from inter-clan violence and crimes before President Salva Kiir declare the state of emergency and disarmament in the region.
