The Minister of Agriculture in Tonj encourages farmers to put more efforts on cultivation to fight hunger in the state.
William Deng Nhial in his statement to Don Bosco Radio says farmers are about to lose hope in farming due to drought.
He points out that his first priority is cultivation to reduce food the insecurity in the region.
Deng says that most of the farmers are complaining that crops grown early in May are drying up because there is no rain.
The minister urges the community to pray so that it rains soon to rescue the crops already planted.
The official made the remarks to Don Bosco Radio on Tuesday in Tonj.
