Faithful in Catholic Diocese of Rumbek on Monday gathered at Holy Family Parish Cathedral to pray for the soul of Late Sister Mary Mumu who died on 7 June 2018 in Nairobi, Kenya due to heart failure.
Sisters’ body was laid to rest on Monday in Nairobi.
Sister Mumu joined Diocese of Rumbek in 2000 and begun evangelization, worked and taught women on how to be self-reliance and transformed lives of many desperate women in the Diocese.
Monsignor John Mathiang Machol told the congregation to pray for the soul of Sister Mary because she improved women’s lives through adult education and manual works.
The Nun also taught women to use sewing machines, he adds.
Monsignor Mathiang encourages women to continue practicing the knowledge they have acquired from the late sister.
He inspires women to imitate Sister Mary’s life, who gave her entire life time helping women to support themselves.
Late Sister Mary was born on August 23, 1948 in Kenya.
