The East African Court will hold a three-day sensitization session for judges of national courts, state attorneys and members of the Bar Association. The session will focus on the role of the court in the advancement of the Community integration agenda.
Chief Justice of Uganda, Bart Katurebe will open the session on Wednesday at Nakawa Judicial Studies Institute.
President of the East African Court Justice Emmanuel Ugirashebuja is expected to present a paper on the role of judiciaries in the region in the integration process and its relationship with national courts.
Justice Charles Oyo Nyawello will also present a paper on the legal and judicial framework of Community and the EAC.
Justice Kiryabwire Geoffrey Mupere is scheduled to present the jurisprudence of the Appellate Division as well as Justice of the Court of Appeal of Uganda.
He will also deliver a paper on the role of ICT in efficiency administration of justice at the EACJ.
The Court held the same sensitization in some of the partner states including South Sudan, and Burundi.
It will proceed to Rwanda and later to Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania and Nairobi, Kenya.
