South Sudan expects a heavy rain falls in the next three months

Officials at South Sudan’s Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs say the country will experience a heavy rain fall in the next three months.
 
Addressing the press on Friday in Juba, the undersecretary of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster management, Gatwich Peter Kulang, says as from June to September this year heavy rain is expected and that will hinder the humanitarian activities in many parts of the country.
 
The Director General of South Sudan Meteorological Services, Majok Modo mentions that areas which may be affected include Upper Nile and Behr-el-Ghazal regions.
 
He advises communities living in lower areas in the mentioned places to move to higher grounds to avoid effects of flood.
 
The Assistance Commissioner for fire and disaster management at the national Civil Defense Forces, Bith Abraham, directed all their forces across the country to be ready to help people in those areas.
 
According to the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, there are nearly 30.000 people already affected by heavy rain falls and flood this year across the country.
