Parties to the Revitalization Forum on Tuesday signed a document recommitting themselves to implement the cessation of hostilities agreement signed last year.

The parties ordered their forces to desist from atrocities and attacks to bases as ECSS Archbishop Moses Deng Bol reads part of their statement.

They promised also to silence guns countrywide.

Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Dr Martin Elia Lomuro says every party will direct their forces to respect the agreement.

Mabior Garang de Mabior of the SPLM-IO says the signing of the document indicates seriousness of parties to realize peace.

ECSS Archbishop Justin Badi Arama who led the process, announces that South Sudan Council of Churches will monitor the implementation of recommitment of the parties this time around.

A draft proposal on governance and security was presented by IGAD to the parties and they are expected to go and study them and come up with their reactions on Wednesday.
