Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission or JMEC has on Monday suspended its plenary meeting because of absence of key parties in the peace agreement in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The parties missing include the government, SPLM-IO and SPLM Former Detainees.
Head of JMEC Festus G. Mogae says for JMEC 22nd meeting to proceed, it requires a quorum of ten national stakeholders and eight regional and international ones.
He says JMEC will put off meeting until its consults the absent members.
Mogae calls on the parties to stop violating the cessation of hostilities agreement signed in December last year.
He says the parties should take immediate actions against violators of the agreement.
According to UNOCHA, estimated 7 million people in South Sudan now require life-saving interventions.
The UN body expresses concern over the worsening humanitarian situation in the country as the conflict enters its fifth year.
